It seems like only last week I was in warmer conditions......Hey wait a minute, it was last week!
Got into Alaska at about 1930 (4 hours difference between here and EST). The lodging place I'm staying at kinda sucks (old stained carpet, paint peeling, no vending machines, etc.) but it's better than being in a pup tent. There is a sign as you enter the building that says, "Bears and moose frequent the area. Be careful, they can be dangerous." There is some snow on the ground and the roads are icy. The last time I was here was in 1985. It will be interesting to see how much has changed. I'll write if anything neat happens (like a bear trees me).
