As I recall, you have 10 seconds from lock deactivation to relock. NSXs are very possessive. If the holder of the remote has not made it to the door in 10 seconds, the NSX interprets this as the owner has changed his/her mind about entry or has been mugged, and relocks itself before evil doers can enter.
As far as unlocking the door first for your lovely lady, I say one good turn deserves another. Have her unlock your door from the passenger side door lock (it will not rearm).
When asked why the car relocks itself? You could have impressed her by stating: "I wired it that way for your protection." "You are so stunningly beautiful inside the NSX, that men would uncontrollably jump into the car just to be next to you, and I wanted to make sure I got there first!"
